was finding all splits on a previously scanned image, but not now

downloaded 2 days ago and opened previously scanned mixed images and it found and enhanced 5 out of 5 photos on a page. Now with the exact same image, it is finding only one out of the 5 images. I can manually add a splits but this is time consuming and why I bought the program to begin with. have tried uninstall/reinstall and have played with the calibration but it's not working. tried sending this earlier but lost internet so don't know if it went through.

Hello Mark. I'm sorry to hear it doesn't work well enough. Autodetection depends on a lot of factors.

* Background: if it's not a solid single color background, but it has some patterns or texture, then the detection will work much less reliably.
* Gaps and position: if there isn't enough gap between the photos, autodetection will not work properly. Also if the edges of the photos are aligned along the same line, it can cause multiple images to be merged during detection. Position photos with enough gap and make sure the edges don't line up.
* Angle: make sure photos aren't rotated too much.

Autodetection should improve if you follow these ideas.

I understand all that. I am scanning a photo album with all black background and what I’m saying is that it was separating fine from the original scan day before last. But from the saved file of that full page scan, it is failing to do what it did before.
