BUGFIX: adding a new split manually will apply the default retouch settings.

New retouch option: HDR - high dynamic range. Enhance details in shadowed/underexposed parts of the image. Image will turn more fresh and lively.

Major rework in Photo Retouching feature: you can now define retouching options per photo individually. You can still set default options.
Retouching interface (panel at the top of extracted splits section) has been greatly reworked.
New retouch options added: gamma (post scan brightness setting), fade compensation, despeckle, sharpen. Remember, some of these options may work against each other. For example sharpen can highlight speckles, negating despeckle's results.
Fade compensation was added to Color Correction options - this is very similar to the existing ones, but it will be slightly different (more natural) in case of color photos.
Wousewheeling over the Batch detection panel will auto focus that panel and will scroll the contents immediately.

Autodetection further refined. New options added to Preferences / Calibration: by default, the software will strongly prefer to look for standard photo sizes. This can be disabled to better detect photos with irregular edge ratios. Tiny photos (smaller than 3% of scanner bed) will be discarded by default, but you can choose to keep them.

Autodetection algorithm has been improved. Some hard to detect images had been detected as straight rectangles before - or just gone undetected. These are going to be detected with higher chance now - more of them will be detected and the correct fine rotation (straightening) will be applied. Photo detection against non-white backgrounds has been improved. However you may encounter a bit more false positive detections in non-white or other very difficult backgrounds. Feel free to revert to a previous version (v1.14.19) if 1.15 doesn't work out for you. Also feel free to open a support ticket to describe your experiences if results are worse than before.

Adjusting splits (cropping frames around detected photos) with mouse will be somewhat more responsive / faster when working with high amount of photos in one scan.
Holding shift key while adding (drawing the edge of) a new split will force the split to be 0 or 180 degrees. Snap to horizontal guaranteed.
Holding shift key while rotating a detected photo with the mouse will show a grid accross the photo frame to help you recompose the crop.
You can now hard reset all settings of the software under Options / Hard reset settings. This can be useful if you experience software frezes or misdetected scanner devices.

Selecting a detected split and holding shift while using the cursor keys will expand the dected split vertically or horizontally - easy way to finely resize a detected photo in small steps.
Scrolling the mouse wheel over the detected splits panel will focus this panel (and will start scrolling).
Preferences / User Interface / Preferred date format: you can now define your perferred date format to help out AutoSplitter when you enter a date that could be interpreted in several ways (f.e. 4/12/15 can be very different depending if you meant month-day-year or day-month-year). Mousing over the displayed date will show what date format was detected (f.e. MDY). If the date remains unrecognized in any format, this fact will also be shown.
You can now set the default position of the finetune window under Preferences / User Interface.

Browse for output folder now lets you create a new folder if necessary.
Popup zoom window size can be changed in Preferences / User interface. Very large resolution scans and/or photos with rounded edges require larger 1:1 zoom area to aim properly. Crosshair in popup zoom window has been enlarged. Popup zoom window will no longer reach outside of the screen area.
You can now use Ctrl+Backspace according to Windows input standards in all text input fields.

Small bugfixes: rare access violation error fixed.
Scrolling the batch detection panel with your mouse or cursor keys will defocus all controls in the extracted splits area to avoid unintentionally changing the color correction / contrast / etc options.
Secondary SaveAll button above extracted splits will also change color when there are changes to be saved.
SaveAll will not unnecessarily light up when there are no changes to be saved in a scan reopened from the batch detection panel.
Changing retouching options will flag all splits as changed.

Batch detection mode sometimes omitted one or more detected images from the editor panel. Detections omitted from the user inteface were not lost, but saved properly. This is fixed now, batch detected files should no longer get ignored.
You can now disable the finetune clipping/rotation window that opens when doubleclicking detected splits. See Preferences / User interface.

Full Zoom dialog is no longer modal - this means you can move this dialog f.e. to another monitor and you can keep working on your splits while Full Zoom keeps updating. This turns Full Zoom dialog into a supersized popup zoom and lets you further finetune cropping.
You can now change the background color of the Extracted splits panel. This helps you quickly verify cropping quality as white borders around cropped photos will not blend into the background.

MAJOR IMPACT: Due to changes in Windows memory management some systems started to process high resolution images (usually 900 DPI or more) extremely slowly - freezing the entire computer in the process. This has been fixed.
Preferences / Captioning: you can now set default captioning in 2 ways: 1) use filename as caption whenever the filename is changed by you (this is how it worked so far) 2) use filename as caption all the time by default.
Using up/down keys when base filename editor is selected will no longer move the selected split.
Save All button will now change color when something has been changed and images need to be saved.

Deleting a split while editing a caption in another split will no longer discard the caption edits.
Resizing the panels by using the slider while the popup zoom panel is open will no longer cause the popup zoom to be stuck.

You can now define the digit separator for filenames. The separator can be changed to other short characters or just empty space. (Images used to be named BASENAME_XXX, now you can replace that underscore to something else or just delete it) See base filename settings in preferences. You can now decrease the split number length to 1 digit (used to be 2 digits at least).

Delete key will no longer delete the split if you are pressing delete while editing the caption text.
Zoom in mode will remember your zoom choice during the session.

Autodetection will recognize smaller images as well. This might be useful if you are scanning in very high DPI and you have lots of photos in the scan.
You can now define much smaller splits manually before the "frame too small" error appears.

Added support for opening very high resolution JPEG files (above 250M pixels). File load for these files will be much slower than normal, but they will work properly now.
New popup menu option: repeat photo detection added to 3 places. 1) popup menu under Scan button 2) popup menu under Add Split button 3) right click popup menu when clicking a split.

You can now drag and drop folders into Autosplitter to initiate a batch scan and split process.
When browsing for folders, it's no longer possible to lose focus of the folder browser dialog.
Captioning comboboxes under the extracted images should no longer scroll to a different caption text when you scroll the whole extracted image area with your mouse wheels.

Use filename as caption option works properly again. This version is accessible to everyone who has licensed access to v1.14.4. Upgrade protection periods have been extended automatically. Open a support ticket if yours hasn't been extended.
Added option to automatically rename files whose filename conflicts with existing filename on the disk and/or inside the split filename editor.

Added Preview size setting to let you resize the preview images in the extracted splits panel. Default preview size is now a bit larger.

Speed up your captioning: you can now select previously entered values from a dropdown list when editing caption text.
You can now pan (move) the selected split around using the cursor keys.

Bugfix: IPTC captions once again appear even if you have secondary fileformat disabled.

Bugfixes: finishing batch review will not delete secondary fileformat output. You cannot change secondary file format during batch review anymore.

Splits were sometimes not redrawn after repositioning a cropping frame. This has been fixed. Split creation speed improved a little bit.

Image captions are now also saved to image metadata where supported - makes finding and categorizing your images easier. In connection to this feature we have added an annotation mode selector: you can choose to add captions, metadata or both to the output image.
Multipage TIF support - multipage tifs will open as multiple single-image tif files and will launch batch review mode.
TIFF extension now also recognized for individually opened TIF files. (Previously only TIF was recognized)
Image handling library updated - image files will load much faster. Saving output images is also somewhat faster now.
Hotkeys Ctrl+S (save all), F3 (open file) and F5 (scan) should now work while editing caption or filename of a split.
Sample images can no longer be loaded during batch review mode.
