Do you have suggestions for a flatbed scanner?

I have a large project ahead of me: scanning hundreds/thousands of photos and letters. I want to buy a large flatbed scanner so I can batch-scan many photos at once. Can you please recommend one or two options?

Sorry, I don't have any hardware recommendations. All TWAIN compatible scanners should be OK in general. I'm using Canon, they are good.
