changing dpi

how do I change 600 dpi to 300 dpi?

Hello JoAnn. Click the small black triangle under the Scan button to find a popup menu that lets you launch the scanner dialog (Choose scanner/DPI menu item). This will let you change the DPI settings and other scanning related settings as well.
